Lighthouses of Lake Michigan

Built in 1851, the lake Captains didn't  like the placement of this light.  In 1869, it was replaced with the range lights shown below and has been abandoned.  Note however the "bird cage" shelter for the light itself.  This is the original, and one of only 3 on the great lakes.   (To get to this light, follow the road that passes by the range lights below as far as it will go, and bring a long lens.)
