South Baymouth is a ferry connection point to the other side of Georgian Bay, so this is a significant light for navigation.  It is mounted on a shelf of limestone.  With the Great Lakes level as low as it is at this time, it looks pretty isolated, but I'll bet there have been times when water came right up to the base.
