IT 130 Castellammare di Stabia latitude 40° 41' 17.7" N longitude 14° 28' 28.2" E Castellammare di Stabia, at the southeastern corner of the Golfo di Napoli, is only 6 km south of Pompeii and was one of the towns destroyed by the great eruption of Vesuvius in 79 BC.
