Tarifa is at the western end of the narrow portion of the Strait of Gibraltar, about 25 km southwest of the Rock and only 14 km northeast of the Moroccan coastline. The lighthouse is on a small island just offshore from the town of Tarifa. Accessible only by boat. ARLHS # SPA-148 (D 2414)
