The Lighthouses of Northeastern Sweden

This page shows the documentation of the Lighthouses of Northeastern Sweden.  You can always click on the photo of the light to go to a specific (larger resolution) copy.  Each lighthouse name is linked to (in our editorial opinion) the best reference site for that light.

SW 1 Haparanda

Located on the waterfront in Karlsborg.  Don't confuse with the similar named light on Lake Vattern.

Located on a gravel bar in the northernmost Gulf of Bothnia, about 8 km southeast of Risögrund.

This light is on the island of Malören in the Lulea archipelago.

Located on a shoal in the channel between the islands of Junkön and Storbrändön, about 12 km east southeast of Luleå.  A photo with skier is available.

The light used here was originally at the Sandhammaren Light.  It was relit here in 1904 on the tallest skeletal tower in Sweden.  Don't confuse this with the light with the same name in Finland. ARLHS# SWE-329

Located on a shoal in the Gulf of Bothnia about 12 km southeast of Jävrebyn and about 6 km east of the Pite-Rönnskär lighthouse.

This historic light station is the landfall light for Skellefteå, marking the south entrance to an embayment leading to the town.   Located on a promontory about 15 km northeast of Lövånger.
